Belize's Managed Access Committees
With support from the MAR Fund, Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) led a project from June 2021 through November 2022 to support Belize’s Managed Access Committees (MACs) in building the knowledge and tools needed to address key fishery management challenges. EDF with partners from the Belize Fisheries Department, marine protected area co-managers and the eight MACs strengthened capacity on topics including climate resilience, multispecies management, replenishment zones and recreational fisheries management. To facilitate continued learning within and beyond Belize, this page features the training content that was shared with the MACs.
