Financial resources for small-scale fishers
Access to financial resources is critical for small-scale fishers and their contributions to nutrition and food security, livelihoods, and poverty alleviation. Small-scale fisheries are geographically diverse and dispersed, making it difficult to obtain access to standard banking and credit services.
Ensuring the availability of credit to both rural households in general and small-scale fishers, in particular, is crucial for fostering economic development, increasing production, adding value, and improving livelihoods in small-scale fisheries.
