Community Guidelines
The SSF Hub creates an opportunity for people to learn and share resources and experiences across a wide array of fisheries and management challenges to support small-scale fisheries and the communities that depend on them. As a collaborative and inclusive space, our goal is to foster conversations that are informative, fun, and engaging. By using this website, you agree to the following these guidelines and our Terms & Conditions. If you have any questions about these guidelines please let us know at info@ssfhub.org.
SSF Hub Community
In order to promote community and collaboration, the SSF Hub has a member directory. The Member Directory allows SSF Hub community members to browse the profiles of other users of the site and learn information about their occupation, contact information, and the experience they have in small-scale fisheries. It is highly recommended that users provide their name and a form of contact information. However, users should only provide information that they are willing to make public to the SSF Hub community.
Content, Manners and Language
Everyone has a right to use the SSF Hub free of disrespect, harassment, bullying, and threats. The use of swearing, offensive and threatening language, and uploading images or videos which may cause offense is strictly prohibited. We have the right to edit and/or remove any content from the SSF Hub that we believe may cause offense. We also have the right to suspend or permanently restrict your access to the website if we believe you have uploaded inappropriate content or used the SSF Hub in any way that goes against these guidelines.
Safety
The SSF Hub is a safe, inclusive, and respectful interactive space for sharing ideas, stories, and experiences. Please be mindful of details that could reveal any sensitive or confidential information regarding your work and/or your organization. Remember that anyone is able to access and read what you post; do not share personal details such as addresses, phone numbers, and information about your personal life that you do not want others to know. Respect the privacy of others; do not share details of another community member’s work or personal life without first obtaining consent.
Advertising and Promotion
Appropriate professional and personal engagement (e.g., sharing of an experience or resource, offering recommendations, and professional networking) is encouraged on the SSF Hub. The Hub is a community that fosters collaboration and a space to learn and share relevant experiences and ideas. It is prohibited to use the SSF Hub for the purposes of selling and promoting services or products, and we have the right to remove any content and restrict your use of the website if we believe you are using the SSF Hub for this purpose.
Reporting and Moderation
The SSF Hub Community Manager is Daliza Jimenez, and you can reach her at info@ssfhub.org. As moderator of the SSF Hub, Daliza helps keep the Community Forum a collaborative and safe space.
The SSF Hub is post-moderated and discussions appear on the website as soon as they are posted. All posts will be reviewed by the Community Manager as soon as possible. However, if you find content that may breach the terms of the Community Guidelines or the SSF Hub Terms & Conditions, report it to Daliza so she can help find a solution.
Account Moderation
The SSF Hub administrators periodically review user account activity. The administrators reserve the right to delete accounts that are not in use, or accounts that are believed to be internet bots. If an account is flagged as inactive, the user will receive an email with instructions to reactivate their account. If no action is taken within 7 days, the user’s account will be deleted. Users can make a new account at any time by clicking the “Join” button in the upper right-hand corner of the homepage.
