1. What was your favourite part of the SSF Summit 2022?
- Information sharing and exchanges on SSF – with fishermen, stakeholders and scientists
- Meeting people, especially fishermen, inside and outside of the sessions
- Meeting other organizations, small-scale social movements and SSF leaders
2. What should be the main objective(s) and value of the SSF Summit?
- Provide a platform for small-scale fisheries actors to engage and coordinate
- Inform and facilitate the inclusion of small-scale fisheries in relevant policy processes at global, regional and national level
- Assess and advance the implementation of the Voluntary Guidelines for Securing Sustainable Small-Scale Fisheries in the Context of Food Security and Poverty Eradication (SSF Guidelines)
3. Is there anything you wished we had talked about more than in the SSF Summit 2022?
- Information systems to small-scale fishers
- Partnerships with SSF in support of implementing the SSF Guidelines
- Specific solutions/strategies that benefit all SSF (e.g. depletion of fish stocks, regional policies, overfishing, marine pollution, climate change, human rights, socio-economic capacity building of artisanal fisheries and SSF etc)
4. Which priorities/topics would you like to see addressed in the next SSF Summit in 2024?
- Ensuring an enabling environment and supporting implementation of the SSF Guidelines
- Sustainable resource management
- Governance of tenure in small-scale fisheries
- Implementation of the human rights-based approach in small-scale fisheries
- Gender equality
- Disaster risk and climate change
- Value chains, post-harvest and trade
5. Who would you like to see participate in SSF Summits?
- Small-scale fisheries organizations
6. What elements or formats would you like to see at a future SSF Summit?
- Time for dialogue in the sessions
- Poster sessions (e.g. introduce different organizations, activities etc)
- Cultural/social events
- Space for informal dialogue
7. The SSF Summit 2022 took a staged approach, with one day dedicated entirely to small-scale fisheries actors only, followed by two days of sessions with other actors. Is this a useful approach also for the future?

8. How long should the SSF Summit be?

9. The next FAO Committee on Fisheries (COFI) will tentatively take place on 8-12 July 2024. When should the SSF Summit take place?
- Directly prior to COFI
- Well in advance of COFI
10. Do you have recommendations of activities and initiatives that can support engagement and dialogue among SSF Summit participants prior to the next Summit, e.g. regional meetings, studies, webinars etc?
- Organize regional meetings, studies, seminars and webinars on key topics to address and articulate interventions at the next meeting
- Get more grassroot groups of fishers, fishing communities, governments, NGOs and regional organizations
- Prepare side events earlier and organize a regional workshop and consultation on the implementation of the resolutions taken at the last summit and COFI
- More time and space for discussion
