Leadership for Climate-Resilient Fisheries Fellowship
Sustainable Ocean Alliance (SOA) and the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) are pleased to announce the Leadership for Climate Resilient Fisheries Fellowship.
SOA and EDF will select 8-10 Fellows from East and Southeast Asia to participate in an intensive program that aims to strengthen their leadership in advancing solutions for climate resilient fisheries. Fellows will receive a grant of US$2,000-US$5,000 to advance a relevant project.
The virtual program will provide Fellows a holistic understanding of principles and approaches for building climate resilience through sustainable fisheries management, coupled with extensive leadership training and skills development.
Young Ocean Leaders (age 18-35) with a relevant project idea are invited to apply. Projects may be new ideas or build off existing efforts. The grants will be modeled after SOA’s Ocean Leadership Microgrants program, but Fellows must first complete the climate resilient fisheries curriculum between July and September 2021 to be eligible for funding. They will work to integrate learned best practices into their project ideas, and funds will be issued to eligible Fellows in September 2021.
