Job Description:

The Fishery Officer (Small-Scale Fisheries/SSF) supports NFI's work on small-scale fisheries in line with the Voluntary Guidelines for Securing Sustainable Small-scale Fisheries in the Context of Food Security and Poverty Eradication (the SSF Guidelines). This includes the direct provision of support to the implementation of the SSF Guidelines and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal (SGD) target 14 b (Provide access of small-scale artisanal fishers to marine resources and markets). This entails support at the global, regional and national level, such as contributing to the development of field programmes and projects to support member States and other relevant partners, which require a better understanding, development and governance of small-scale fisheries.
