Discussion And Learning Together In Sungai Burung Village
Increasing the Role of Women Fishermen Towards Sustainable Management of Blue Swimming crabs
EDF, CTC, and PVI have held a learning network session meeting for small crab fishermen which is planned to take place at the end of May 2022. One of the recommendations for follow-up from the meeting is to hold a networking session meeting at the village level. In line with these activities, an initial identification has been carried out by Mitra Bentala to find out the activities, roles, and potential for collaboration with women's groups that exist at the village level regarding coastal and marine natural resources.
The objectives of this learning meeting are:
1. Share the learning outcomes from the meeting in Bandar Lampung with fisherwomen and Sungai Burung village officials
2. Increase understanding of the role of women in sustainable crab fisheries
3. Share knowledge and expertise about the activities of women fishermen in Sungai Burung Village.
4. As a forum to introduce sustainable fisheries management at the village level.
This activity is also intended to prepare a forum for women fishermen in Sungai Burung Village if needed. The function of this forum is as a forum for female bird river fishermen to learn together, participate in the management of coastal natural resources and in particular the sustainable management of crabs.
