Alternative Business Development for Fishermen Groups in Muara Gading Mas Village, East Lampung - Indonesia

(17 Mei 2022) KUB Sumber Laut Jati is a business group run by fishermen in Muara Gading Mas Village, Labuhan Maringgai District, East Lampung Regency. This business activity aims to provide the fishing needs of member fishermen, one of which is crab net fishing gear.

Pak Rosul, the Head of KUB Sumber Laut Jati said that one of the obstacles in catching crabs is that the fishing nets are damaged quickly and must be replaced immediately. The business of selling crab net fishing gear within the group is expected to help group members not to go too far to buy crab nets outside the village. In addition, for member fishermen who lack capital, the group provides fishing gear credit services so that they can still go to sea.

The results of business activities are reported every month on the agenda of the KUB routine meetings which are held once a month. Members are also required to pay a monthly fee of IDR 20,000 and recorded in the group cash book.
