Hi everyone! I know spawning aggregation sites are critically important to many species in the Caribbean. I just ran across this blog and journal article (open access) that I thought might be of interest to this group. In short, through the protection of spawning aggregation sites in the U.S. Virgin Islands using seasonal closures to protect spawning activity during peak seasons, the red hind, saw a 35% increase in average fish size and the recovery of the population to a benchmark considered sustainable for many fish species.

Hi Camilo, I agree this is an important topic, especially when we need to consider how these benefits are perceived by fishers ; as well as the potential for citizen science to document it. This group is doing great outreach efforts about similar species in the region: https://es.merospr.com/
