The SSF Hub Presents: Fisher Voices webinar series will continue in 2022, as a way to facilitate the exchange of stories, best practices, and actions needed to protect the lives and livelihoods of small-scale fishers worldwide. These webinars will highlight important topics, voiced by small-scale fishers and fishworkers, to build increased awareness of the issues facing small-scale fishing communities, drive action to support them, and demonstrate the importance of the implementations of the Voluntary Guidelines for Securing Sustainable Small-Scale Fisheries.

The SSF Hub is focusing on the following topics for its regional webinars: Women & Gender in Small-Scale Fisheries; Small-Scale Fisheries as Part of the Blue Economy; Small-Scale Fisheries Governance; Climate Change Adaptations and Resiliency. These themes were identified by small-scale fishers and members of the small-scale fisheries movement and encompass the Pillars of the International Year of Artisanal Fisheries and Aquaculture (IYAFA 2022) and the sections of the Voluntary Guidelines for Securing Small-Scale Fisheries (SSF Guidelines).

The SSF Hub and these webinars aim to provide a place where fishers, fishworkers, and communities can share their needs, stories, information, ideas, and questions to help inspire and empower people to elevate the profile of small-scale fisheries on the global agenda and take action locally to strengthen these fisheries for a better future.

If you are interested in participating in the webinars or wish to share your story on any of the topics, please Fisher Voices and Local Dialogues pages to see how you can get involved.
